INTRODUCTION

Basically, everyone has the deepest need to be loved and to be accepted. Very often man goes beyond all limits, and he will do anything to get that sort of love. But the true fact of love is that many times we get back rejection instead of acceptance, we face failure than success, we face betrayal than faithfulness in love. This morning if your heart is panting for love, for company, for a friend, for someone to understand you the Bible is the best guide for you. We need to turn to God’s love which is the greatest love of all, the Agape love. Let us see what God’s love is:

1. God’s Love Will Never Let You Down

Hebrews 13:5 5 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Jeremiah 31:3 3 “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
Psalm 27:10 10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.

God will never leave you and God’s love will never let you down.

Look at the ministry of Jesus:

  • When people came to Jesus with problems, Jesus always had solutions.
  • When people came to Jesus with questions, Jesus always had answers.
  • When people came to Jesus with sickness, Jesus always healed them.

I cannot think of a single time in all the gospels that Jesus said to the people who came to him, “I’m sorry, I cannot do this for you.”

  • It did not matter for Jesus if people were full of sin and immorality.
  • It did not matter for Jesus if the people were suffering from sickness.
  • It did not matter for Jesus if people came for theological answers.
  • It did not matter for Jesus if the people came to find fault with him.

When people came, Jesus never let them down. He always loved and lifted them.

Therefore, this morning I want to tell you that God’s love will never let you down.

Now, sometimes you may ask me why God is not answering all your prayers. We pray for certain needs to happen and nothing seems to happen and we feel God is far away from us and he does not love us nor answer us.

See, God does not look at our problems as we look at it. We look at our problem in our point of view. We are always concerned with our needs, health, problems etc. When God looks at you problems he looks at our problem in his universal will and plan. God has his timeline for solving every of our problems and God is working in his timetable.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Paul never says all things are going to be good but Paul says in all things whether good or bad, it will turn out to be good for those who love him.

Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

Now see, God does not say there will not be enemies or problems in life. But God says in the midst of our enemies, pain of life, troubles, worries, cares, and burdens which are too heavy to carry there is always a table where God’s people can come and find strength for their life.

I know the real story of a widow whose husband died when he was just 34 years of age of a massive heart attack. That day had begun like any other day – he awoke at the same time – went to work – performed his duties – came home at the end of the day – played with his kids – ate supper – watched TV with his family – tucked his kids into bed – kissed his wife “goodnight” & went to sleep – never to awake. He died in his sleep.

She was just 33 when he died and he left her with 2 children; a daughter and a son. She said, “I was not a Christian when he died and the heartache was unbearable.”

She said, “I thought that God & everyone else had forsaken me & that life was no longer worth living. But somehow, in the midst of my struggles,” she said, “God found me & lifted me up. I’ll not tell you that we didn’t have troubles,” she continued. “I had rebellious teenagers & trouble making ends meet. I had to work day & night to be both a mother & a father to them.

“But now I look back on all that, & I can see 2 beautiful children, happily married, raising their children in the church. And I know that through it all – the tears, the trials & the tribulations, the pain, the loneliness – God never let me down!

Child of God, God will never let you down. I do not know how much your problems are, your burdens, worries, concerns, and loneliness – God will never let you down.

2. God’s Love Will Never Let You Off

Our God will never let us off. The Bible says God is love, God is righteous, God is patient. Child of God even if we have sin in us God will never let us off the hook. Yes, for the sins he will punish us, he cannot stand sin, but you can always come back to him he will never let us off. People often get offended by our nature, maybe they do not like us and let us off, they stop their friendship or relationship with us but God is never like that. You can always go back to him. God will never let us off.

Mary and Martha were close friends of Jesus. When Lazarus was sick they send word to Jesus but he came 4 days late. Their brother had died and in the tomb 4 days. Mary and Martha thought Jesus let them off. But look at Jesus. Jesus said, “Your brother will rise again.” Jesus Wept and he rose Lazarus from the dead. God’s love will never let you off. If the world has let you off, come to God he will never let you off.

3. God’s Love Will Never End

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails.

God’s love is unconditional, it will never end.

A man asked his friend what is the true test of love? His friend said, “The true test of love is to keep loving when your love is not returned.” Man has a limit to his love, he cannot wait for long, but the amazing quality of God’s love is that it is always there. God is patient. God’s love never fails.

You can find unfailing, unending love in the life of Jesus. Jesus kept on loving even though the soldiers nailed him to a cross. Even when they spat on him, laughed at him, mocked him, ridiculed him, tore his dress – Jesus kept on loving. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Even though they returned hatred for his love Jesus never withdrew his love.

That is God’s love. It does not make any difference how far we have wandered away from God – How deep is our sin – How great is our trials and tribulations – God’s love will never end.

Conclusion

God loves you with an unconditional love. When Jesus was asked in Luke 15 why he spent so much time with the sinners and tax collectors Jesus said 3 parables in Luke 15:

  • The story of a woman who lost a coin. Jesus said God’s love is like the woman who searches for the coin until she finds it.
  • Jesus told the story of a good shepherd who counted his sheep and discovered that one went missing. The shepherd went out into the night until he found the lost sheep, and brought it back home. God’s love is like the good shepherd.
  • Jesus told the story of a father waiting for his prodigal son to return home – looking from the window – watching the highway that led into the far country where his son has gone. One day he found some hope. As he was looking far he saw someone like his son. The father ran down the steps, out of the gate, and down the road until he greets and kisses his son. That is God’s love, it will never, never end.

God will give you freedom to walk away, to mock him, to reject him but God’s love will never end.

This morning let us understand the unconditional love of God for you and me through Jesus. God’s love will never let you down, God’s love will never let you off, and God’s love will never end.
