Why the Good Friday?
Good Friday marks the day when Jesus experienced betrayal by Judas Iscariot, arrest by the Roman authorities, and a series of trials before being sentenced to death by crucifixion. Christians understand his death as an atoning sacrifice for humanity’s sins, fulfilling prophecies in scripture.
In today’s fast-paced world, Good Friday’s relevance remains vital. It serves as a reminder of core values like selflessness, forgiveness, and redemption. Reflecting on Jesus’ ultimate act of love on the cross, we are called to emulate his example daily. Amidst a world often characterized by selfishness and division, Good Friday compels us to embody compassion and empathy, just as Jesus did.
