City Harvest AG Church in Bengaluru, India is a vibrant community of believers dedicated to worship, fellowship, and Bible-based teaching. Founded and led by Pastor Shine P. Thomas, City Harvest welcomes people from all walks of life to encounter God’s presence and grow in their faith. Our church reaches a diverse community both in Bengaluru and around the world through in-person gatherings and online worship services.

The Vision

City Harvest Assemblies of God Church exists for Jesus as a movement of the Holy Spirit for revival in Bengaluru city & the world. Discipleship occurs when we are intentional in living out the teachings of Jesus within community. We submit to the command of Scripture to love one another and this cannot happen if our lives do not intersect in good community fellowship. Our vision is fulfilled with a four-faceted approach. Preach. Prepare. Plant. Practice.

PREACH

We preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified and resurrected from the grave. Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. It is through the paradox of the cross that we discover the way to God, the truth of who He is, and the life that only He can give. The gospel is the centre of Christianity and the cross is the center of the gospel.

PLANT

Matthew 28:18-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. PREPARE

Ephesians 4:12 “To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”

The focus of the church is Christian maturity. Our teachings in all departments of the church is to enable to grow people in the area of their fruitfulness to the image of Christ and exercising their spiritual gifts from the good foundation of the fruit of the Spirit. This way people are prepared to serve Jesus with mutual love for the Lord and the people.

PRACTICE

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

The Beginning

The church was founded in 2003 as part of a vision God gave to its founder and Senior Pastor, Shine P. Thomas. Over the years, the church has witnessed remarkable growth and today serves six language groups, with English as the primary language. Located in Bangalore, our church continues to impact lives and communities with the Gospel. Our Senior Pastor and his wife eventually left their secular careers to dedicate themselves fully to full-time ministry in the Lord’s vineyard.

When City Harvest Assemblies of God Church was founded in 2003 under the leadership of Rev. Shine P. Thomas, He was responding to God’s call- pursuing full-time ministry, faithfully guiding the church with prayer, vision, and Spirit-led leadership.

Over the years, City Harvest has experienced remarkable growth and is recognized as one of the fastest growing churches in Bangalore. The congregation continues to expand across multiple language groups, fostering spiritual maturity through vibrant worship, sound biblical teaching, and a strong culture of fellowship. Two years after its founding, the church adopted the core beliefs of the Assemblies of God Fellowship. Four of these doctrines—known as our cardinal beliefs—remain central to everything we do, shaping our worship, teaching, preaching, and community life.

The Present

City Harvest AG Church is impacting the city of Bengaluru and globally for the glory of God across different language groups through signs, wonders, vibrant worship, and Word-based teaching from the Word of God. We are excited to be part of the Body of Christ as we are passionate about His kingdom.

MEET OUR PASTORS

Rev. Shine Thomas & Pr. Glory Shine

Rev. Shine P. Thomas and Pr. Glory Shine have pastored City Harvest AG Church since its inception in 2003, faithfully leading the congregation with prayer and purpose. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they provide progressive leadership and spiritual direction, helping the church grow in strength and maturity. The church continues to expand its impact and influence across Bangalore and beyond for the glory of God.

Born in Kerala, India and brought up in different states of India, Pastor Shine was a member of Buntain Memorial Assembly of God Church in Kolkata where he received his salvation and water baptism. He relocated to Bangalore in 1990 and God enabled him to pioneer City Harvest AG Church in 2003.

Pastor Glory Shine on the other hand was born and brought up in Bangalore where she was a member of Peniel Assembly of God Church, Bangalore. She got married to Pastor Shine in the year September 2000. After co-founding City Harvest with her husband, she eventually left her job to join her husband in pastoral ministry.

Pastor Shine's Testimony

Rev. Shine P. Thomas was born into an orthodox Christian family in South India. His grandfather crafted church bells and temple lamps that were supplied across the region, while his father worked as a Central Government employee with a transferable job. Growing up in a comfortable, well-to-do home, there was little spiritual hunger, yet God was preparing a greater purpose for his life.

In 1980, when the family was in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Pastor’s mother was miraculously healed from an incurable illness after being led to a church through Sis. Mary Kovoor and her husband’s ministry. This encounter brought his parents to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. Five years later, in Calcutta, the family joined Buntain Memorial Assemblies of God Church.

During a Vacation Bible School led by Pastor Mark Buntain, Shine accepted Jesus as his Savior, soon obeyed the Lord in water baptism, and was later filled with the Holy Spirit – receiving the gifts of tongues, vision, and prophecy. From that moment, his journey of faith and ministry began to take root deeply in Christ. Today, Rev. Shine P. Thomas also serves as the Presbyter of the Central District of South India Assemblies of God, alongside leading City Harvest AG Church, Bengaluru.
